Set like a glittering jewel amidst the South China Sea, Tioman Island, the largest of a group of 64 volcanic islands, beckons the visitor with its white beaches and crystal clear azure seas. Diving in Tioman is always an adventure, visibility seldom falls below 30’ and is usually much better. Boasting more than 20 known dive sites, marine live is prolific. Everything from sharks, turtles, tuna, even mantas and whale sharks in season, to macro critters. Reefs are healthy and in good condition, the whole of Tioman island now being a protected marine park, packed with colorful reef fish. The quality of the dive sites around Tioman is seriously under-rated.@@Tekek village can be considered as the heart of Tioman. The airport is located at Tekek and so is the police station, local authorities and other government offices. The only available road at Tioman is from Tekek village to Lalang village (Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort). Tekek has arguably the nicest stretch of white sand beach on the island and offers a host of small restaurants and shops.
Barbura Seaview Resort offers comfortable clean commodation and is located right on the beach. Next door is the colorful well run dive center which offers guests timely access to all Tioman's dive sites from their fast, modern dive boat.
